Lost in Space StoryBomb project

Download the ‘Lost in Space!’ StoryBomb project flier here. This activity is in partnership with Hybrid 3 Studios, with Al, Matt and Rebecca.

Don’t worry if you didn’t attend the first workshop on Tuesday, you can still take part. Read below for details.

We have also recorded Tuesday’s Zoom session for anyone who missed it (ask your worker for a copy).

How to get involved:

WRITING PROMPTS

Things to help inspire you when you are creating your piece:

What happened? How did you get here?

Where were you going before you got lost?

How long have you been lost? Are you alone? How do you feel?

Can you see anything around you? Can you hear anything? Smell anything?

Do you have a plan for how to get home?

 RECORDING VOICES

Either on a phone or the Zoom app, record what you have written (or just make it up on the hoof) and email the audio file / files to your SYC worker  or just send the writing in and we can record someone from here.  Email to your SYC worker or use Wetransfer if the recording is longer than about 20 seconds

MUSIC RECORDING

Short motifs / riffs to do with Lost In Space, or even just spacey noises made with your instruments.  Email to Your SYC worker or use Wetransfer

You can also write a write a song, a tune or a rap

SOUND FX

Have a look around where you live and find ANYTHING that you think may make a good sound for being lost in space.  This can be the sound of a black hole to the sound of your brain ticking or your heart beating or an alien life form having a bad hair day.

It can come from ANYTHING...a wine glass, a dustbin, a watering can, scraping a cheese grater with a lollypop stick.  ANYTHING.

Listen to how they sound and whether they could represent something from space.  We can put them through different effects here to make them huge, or tinkly, or spacey.

Record the sounds on your phone or computer.  If you need some inspiration then watch this.  It's easy!

Or if you want to find an app for your phone / computer that can do this then go wild and see what happens.
