Following years of support for SYC, the new Lord Mayor, Cllr Anne Murphy, has chosen Sheffield Young Carers as one of her charities of the year, alongside four other local charities (Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, Dementia Action Alliance, ArtWorks and Sheffield Hospital Charity Renal Unit).

On Wednesday 17th May, three young carers had a wonderful evening getting dressed up and enjoying a special evening reception in the Town Hall to mark the start of the Lord Mayor’s year.

It is an honour to have been selected and will raise the profile of young carers within our city massively. We are really looking forward to working with the Lord Mayor and the other charities in this special year.
