We’re extremely proud to announce that we’ve won an award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Supporting Young People’.
Young carers Leanne, Phoebe and Michael collected the award (which was presented by Olympic medallist and local hero Jess Ennis-Hill) at Voluntary Action Sheffield’s prestigious new ‘Make a Difference Awards’ on Thursday 24th November.
The ceremony, which was held at the impressive Cutlers Hall, brought together voluntary sector organisations from all over Sheffield, in recognition of the exceptional work they carry out. We were honoured to be shortlisted alongside Roundabout, Sheffield’s local youth housing charity – just one of many deserving winners and runners-up.
This amazing award comes at the perfect time for SYC, just as we’re about to enter our 20th year. Huge thanks must go to our staff and trustees (both past and present) and the many partner organisations who work so tirelessly to improve support available to young carers in Sheffield.
But ultimately this award belongs to the incredible young people and families we’re here to help – thank you.
