Sheffield Young Carers (SYC) is looking for professional counsellors to deliver individual support to young people aged 8-12 years old.
We have been allocated some additional funding to deliver counselling provision for young people aged 8-12 years old in our service. We wish to establish a Counsellor Database and are therefore looking for a number of counsellors or a counselling organisation who:
· can offer individual counselling sessions to 8-12 year-olds (number of sessions per young person dependent upon need but likely to be up to 12 sessions each).
· can offer counselling at a time and place that suits the young person (this would be negotiated with each young person and appropriate travel time would be paid).
· are registered with BACP or equivalent body and can arrange their own clinical supervision.
We will use the database to allocate counsellors to children and young people identified as needing support by SYC project workers. As this is a new service for us, we are not able to guarantee the number of sessions we can offer to each counsellor.
