SYC are excited to be running the Our School Cares project for the second year running, off the back of the success of the pilot project. We are delighted to welcome the following settings to the programme:
Leads from each of the settings will receive three half-day training sessions on: Young Carer Awareness and Identification, Staff Awareness and Training, and Supporting Young Carers, plus additional optional sessions on the Young Carer Identification Questionnaire, and applying to the Young Carers in Schools Award. Each setting will then be expected to carry out a minimum number of actions relating to the different areas within their settings, with the aim of increasing the numbers of young carers identified, the support the school offers to young carers, and the creation of a Young Carer Policy.
