The summer holidays can be an exciting time, with most young people having six or seven weeks off school. However, with so much time off, filling days with fun can be very hard - and very expensive! Here are some of our top activities this summer, to help keep things entertaining.

Sheffield Healthy Holidays
Sheffield Healthy Holidays are offering loads of free activities online. These activities include dancing, singing, beatboxing, yoga and even circus skills! There are sports, crafts and cooking activities too and even competitions, with chances to meet some famous Sheffield-ers. All this and more can be accessed for free when you join the club with an email address.
Day Trips
The Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is a great place to visit, giving you the chance to see what Sheffield was like in the 18th century and how people used to live back in the day. (FREE ENTRY)
Pitsmoor Adventure Playground will be open this summer, giving young people the chance to run, play and enjoy the weather, all at the same time. (FREE ENTRY)
Although currently closed, Graves Gallery is a great day out for those interested in art. Summer 2021 is the re-opening date so keep an eye on their website over the next few weeks to stay updated. (FREE ENTRY)
From pizza-making to kickboxing and self-defence classes, Heeley City Farm has lots of different activities to suit all young people.
The National Emergency Services Museum is another superb day out, from showing off their fire engines and ‘vintage’ police cars to World War 2 stories, NESM is fun for all.
For all video game lovers! The National Videogame Museum could be the perfect museum for you. There are all sorts of different exhibitions there and lots of retro games to try out too.
Holiday clubs
The Kids Art Academy is running cooking and animation activities for 4-14 year-olds.
Kings Camps run holiday camps that include over 30 different sports, activities, games and crafts for young people to get involved with.
MASKK Holiday Playcare run holiday clubs that encourage young people to enjoy the outdoors , play games and enjoy arts/crafts sessions.
Other things going on this summer
If going out for the day isn’t possible, Animal Club have lots of free, fun worksheets that can be downloaded or printed and done from home.
Bears in Sheffield? That’s right, this summer, why not go on a ‘bear trail’ to help keep active as well as support a great cause. The Children’s Hospital Charity has placed 160 different bear sculptures across Sheffield and is challenging people to visit as many as possible (complete through the phone app) to raise awareness and even earn rewards.
