We hope you have a lovely festive break but know that this time of year can be hard. If you need any support while we are closed, here are some organisations that can help.
In an emergency (fire, health or crime) - call 999.
For a crime or nuisance behaviour that isn’t an emergency - call 101.
If you’re under 19 and need someone to talk to, Childline is free, confidential and available any time, day or night. You can talk to them by calling 0800 1111, by email, or through 1-2-1 counsellor chat
If you’re worried about your own or someone else’s safety, call the Sheffield Safeguarding Hub on 273 4855 (open 24 hours a day).
If you’re worried about money, energy costs and food, the council have lots of information here. You can also find a list of places offering free or low-cost meals in friendly, warm and supportive environments here.
If you’re experiencing or worried about domestic abuse:
Call the Sheffield helpline on 0808 808 2241 FREE (Monday – Friday 8:00am – 8:00pm, Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays 11:00am – 8:00pm) or see this Get Help section.
Outside of these hours, call the National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0800 970 2070 available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you’re struggling with your mental health or need someone to talk to:
Samaritans. To talk about anything that is upsetting you, you can contact Samaritans 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call 116 123 (free from any phone) or email jo@samaritans.org.
Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). You can call the CALM helpline on 0800 58 58 58 (5pm–midnight every day) if you are struggling and need to talk. Or if you prefer not to speak on the phone, you could try the CALM webchat service. (5pm–midnight every day)
Shout. If you would prefer not to talk but want some mental health support, you could text SHOUT to 85258. Shout offers a confidential 24/7 text service providing support if you are in crisis and need immediate help.
Kooth. Online, confidential support and counselling for under 18s in Sheffield. Open all over the holidays (chat service only available 4-8pm on Christmas Day)
Papyrus HOPELINEUK. If you're under 35 and struggling with suicidal feelings, or concerned about a young person who might be struggling, you can call Papyrus HOPELINEUK on 0800 068 4141 , email pat@papyrus-uk.org or text 88247.
